Pricing

The full-length test is free, and it stays free. Free account, no card — create the account, click start, and the clock starts.

Everything below is what happens if you want more than one form.

Two prices, both one-time: Starter $49 and Full Access $89. No subscription, no auto-renew, no monthly billing, no trial that turns into a charge.

    What you get for nothing

One complete full-length form of the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam® (PTCE®), built to the specification the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board® (PTCB®) publishes.

    • 90 questions, 110 minutes, one continuous clock. Not ten questions with a scoreboard.
    • 80 scored items weighted 28 / 15 / 19 / 18 — Medications, Federal Requirements, Patient Safety and Quality Assurance, Order Entry and Processing — matching the content outline effective January 6, 2026.
    • Ten unscored items, unlabeled and scattered, because that is how PTCB describes its own pretest items.
    • A worked solution on every question, with each wrong option separately refuted and every calculation shown line by line.
    • A per-domain diagnostic the moment you finish: raw percent, scored and missed in each of the four domains against the 28 / 15 / 19 / 18 targets, and time per item.

You see all of that on a free account. The diagnostic is not the paywall; the diagnostic is the point. Take it cold, before you feel ready — you are buying a map, not a grade.

One thing we will not sell you is a fake number. The real PTCE reports a scaled score from 1,000–1,600 with a passing score of 1,400. This simulator reports your raw percentage — your real PTCE score is scaled and will differ. Anyone handing you a predicted 1,4xx is making it up: PTCB equates its forms precisely so that raw percent does not map onto the scale, and publishes no conversion.

Starter, $49. All three full-length forms, drawn from a bank of 260 verified items — three distinct 90-item papers with no scored item repeated between them, each hitting 28 / 15 / 19 / 18 exactly, with the worked solutions and the domain diagnostic throughout. If your plan is sit the whole thing under the clock three or four times and fix what the report tells me to fix, this is the whole plan.

Full Access, $89. Everything in Starter, plus the domain-targeted question sets — including the Federal Requirements track built around the 2026 outline's new DSCSA knowledge area, and the calculations track that shows the full working on every item rather than the letter. Buy this one if you already know which domain is going to hurt, or if you only have twenty-minute windows between shifts and cannot sit 110 minutes at a stretch.

Already bought Starter and want the tracks? Upgrade to Full Access for $40 — the difference between the two prices, paid once.

The guarantee, with the mechanics printed

A guarantee is worth exactly what its mechanics are worth. A promise to refund you is a sentence until it names a window, the proof required, where to send it, who decides, and how long the money takes to land.

So here are ours, in full, in the same font as everything else. Read them before you buy, not after.

    1. The fourteen-day refund — you looked at it and it is not for you

A refund ends the access it paid for. Refund the $40 upgrade and you drop back to Starter. Refund Starter or Full Access and the paid content goes. The account stays either way.

    • Window: 14 days from purchase.
    • Proof required: none. You do not have to explain, and we will not ask why.
    • Usage limit: none. Work through as much of it as you like inside those 14 days.
    • How to claim: one email to [email protected] with your order number.
    • Decision: within 2 business days of your email.
    • Money back: issued to the original payment method the day it is approved. Your bank or card issuer typically posts it in 5–10 business days — that part is theirs, not ours.

    2. The didn't-pass refund — Full Access, used properly, and the exam still went badly

A refund ends the access it paid for. Refund the $40 upgrade and you drop back to Starter. Refund Starter or Full Access and the paid content goes. The account stays either way.

    • Who it covers: Full Access buyers. Starter is covered by the fourteen-day refund above, not by this one.
    • Purchase timing: you bought at least 14 days before your exam date, and no more than 12 months before it.
    • Use condition: you completed at least two full-length forms end to end, on the clock, before your exam date. We check that from your account — you do not have to prove it.
    • Proof required: your PTCB official score report showing a non-passing result, dated after your purchase, with your name legible. A screenshot or PDF from your PTCB account is fine. Black out the scaled score itself if you want to — we only need the name, the date and the result.
    • Why the official report and not the screen at the test center: PTCB posts the official result to your account in approximately one to three weeks, and it is the official report that governs. Your claim window starts when that posts, not on exam day.
    • Claim window: within 30 days of your official score report posting.
    • How to claim: the same email address, the same order number, with the report attached.
    • Decision: within 5 business days of a complete claim. If something is missing we tell you exactly what, once, and the clock restarts when it arrives.
    • Money back: the full amount you paid us, to the original payment method, the day it is approved.
    • One claim per person.

If you upgraded to get here, both charges count as one purchase. The $49 and the $40 are treated as a single $89 purchase, dated from the first of the two, and a successful claim refunds the full $89. "One claim per person" means one person, not one charge.

What the guarantee does not do

We refund what you paid us. We cannot refund PTCB's $129 exam fee, the $20 window extensions, or anything else PTCB charges — that money never touches us. No site can refund it, and any site implying otherwise is telling you something.

No store credit. No "we'll extend your access instead." No requirement to buy anything else to claim. If you meet the terms above, you get money.

Why it costs what it costs

What PTCB charges for its own practice products. PTCB sells the PTCE Practice Bank® at $65 and the Pre-PTCE® at $29. If you want genuinely retired PTCE items, PTCB is the only legitimate place to get them — and yes, we will tell you that on our own pricing page. Buy theirs as well as ours if you can. A retired-item bank and a full-length timed simulator are different products doing different jobs.

What the money actually pays for. Every item in our bank is written to PTCB's published 2026 content outline and verified one at a time before it ships. Calculation items get solved numerically and independently first. Knowledge items have to be defensible against a citable federal rule, an ISMP or USP convention, or a product-labeling fact — and every wrong option has to be separately refutable. Items that cannot be established get thrown out rather than shipped. That is slow, and it is most of the cost.

What it does not pay for. No ads. No selling your email. No selling your address, and no card before we will show you a score. No recurring charge you have to remember to cancel after you pass.

And the arithmetic you actually care about. The exam is $129, every attempt, with no discounted retake — a second sitting is another $129 in full. Set $49 or $89, once, against that. We are not going to dress it up any further than that; you can do the sum. More on fees, retakes and the passing score in the FAQ, and the whole format and scoring picture on the PTCE exam page.

There is no countdown on this page, no crossed-out "regular price," no code that makes $89 look like a favor. The price is the price.
